Chris Hemsworth’s children don’t find Thor cool: Actor reveals why

Chris Hemsworth may be one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but at home, he’s just “Dad.” The actor recently revealed that his children are completely unfazed by his global fame – even his superhero status as Thor doesn’t impress them anymore.

Hemsworth, known for films like The Cabin in the Woods and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, has three children with his wife, actor Elsa Pataky – 13-year-old daughter India Rose and 11-year-old twin boys Sasha and Tristan.

Speaking to PEOPLE in a recent interview, Hemsworth opened up about how his kids reacted when they first discovered he played Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“They don’t care. They don’t care at all…I reckon when they first realised I was Thor, they thought it was really cool…And then they realised they couldn’t fly and they thought it was less cool,” Hemsworth said.

He added with a laugh, “Now they’re just like, ‘ah, Dad, whatever’…Teenagers,”

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky got married in December 2010, only months after making their relationship public, as reported by PEOPLE. They became parents to daughter India Rose in 2012, followed by twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, in March 2014.

On the work front, Hemsworth was last seen in Crime 101, which released on February 13. Directed by Bart Layton, the film also stars Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan and Halle Berry in pivotal roles. The actor will once again step into the role of Thor in Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated for release on December 18, according to Variety.
