Aditya Dhar says he spent birthday adding final touches to Dhurandhar 2

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar shared that he spent his 43rd birthday working on the final touches of Dhurandhar The Revenge, the much-awaited sequel to last year’s blockbuster Dhurandhar. The director shared the update on his X account on March 12, reflecting on what he described as a “phenomenal year” following the massive success of the franchise’s first instalment.

Along with the update, Dhar also addressed the wave of fan posts and viral “peak detailing by Aditya Dhar” memes circulating online. Acknowledging the buzz, the director thanked audiences for their support and engagement, saying the messages and jokes from fans had left him feeling “blessed beyond belief”.

What did Aditya Dhar say on his birthday?

In a public note shared online, Dhar spoke about spending the day immersed in work on the upcoming film.

“As I spend my birthday adding the final touches on Dhurandhar The Revenge, I find myself pausing for a moment and looking back at the phenomenal year that has gone by,” he wrote.

The filmmaker also expressed gratitude to his team and audiences. “For the journey. For the team who has always walked besides me. And for the faith so many of you have shown in my work over the years,” he added.

How did he respond to the peak detailing memes?

Dhar directly referenced the viral memes that have been circulating on social media praising the level of detail in his filmmaking.

“Reading all your messages, tweets, stories, and all the ‘peak detailing by Aditya Dhar memes’, my heart is full,” he wrote. He added that although he could not reply to every message individually, he deeply valued the support and encouragement from viewers.

The director noted that audience’s trust holds particular significance in an industry where “every film is a leap of faith”.

Why is Dhurandhar 2 one of the most anticipated releases?

The sequel arrives after the first film became the highest-grossing movie of 2025, reportedly crossing Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office.

The spy thriller franchise stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, alongside Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.

The upcoming instalment will reportedly feature a major confrontation between characters played by Rampal and Singh. The ensemble cast also includes Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor.

Dhurandhar The Revenge is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, with paid preview screenings planned for March 18.
