Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover has bought a new MG M9 luxury MPV. Grover’s latest vehicle marks a shift from performance-focused cars to one centred on comfort and interior space. The MG M9 is positioned as a premium MPV designed for buyers prioritising space, features and outright comfort. The MG M9 electric MPV has found buyers among prominent figures in India, including actors, musicians and sportspersons. Actor and politician Hema Malini is among the early owners of the model. Singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan has also purchased the vehicle, while cricketer KL Rahul has been reported to own one.
Their purchases underline the model’s growing presence among public figures and business leaders, indicating rising interest in the premium electric MPV segment. The MG M9 is priced from Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and is sold exclusively via its MG Select premium retail network in a single, fully loaded trim level. It’s also the only all-electric luxury MPV available in the Indian market.
The M9 is offered in both 7- and 8-seater configurations and gets features such as two sunroofs – a single-pane design for the front and a dual-pane unit for the rear-along with powered front and rear seats offering heating, ventilation, massage functions, and fold-out ottoman support.
Additional highlights include powered rear-sliding doors and rear entertainment screens. Safety-wise, it gets multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, it will also feature a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which includes features like adaptive cruise control and forward collision avoidance assist and more.
The electric M9 features a front-wheel-drive layout powered by a front-mounted motor and a 90kWh lithium battery. The motor delivers 245hp and 350Nm of torque, with a claimed WLTP range of 430km. In India, the MG M9 is offered in three colour options – Mystic Grey, Luminous White and Cardiff Black. Visually, the MG M9 Electric showcases a boxy yet premium stance, with an impressive length of 5,207mm. At the front, it sports sleek LED DRLs and a muscular bumper, giving it a bold and modern look. The side profile is further enhanced by stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, adding to its strong road presence.
