Riddhi Kumar on one year of Superboys Of Malegaon: Pride is the strongest emotion I associate with it

One year after the release of Superboys Of Malegaon, the film continues to hold a special place in actor Riddhi Kumar’s heart. Known for choosing meaningful roles and delivering measured performances, she looks back on the journey with gratitude and quiet pride on the film’s first anniversary.

For Riddhi, the film represents more than a professional milestone. It marks a period of growth, learning and self-discovery. Asked about the first emotion that comes to mind when she reflects on the anniversary, she responds with warmth and clarity.

She says, “I think the moment I think of Superboys Of Malegaon, the very first emotion that comes to my mind is, of course, nostalgia because it’s a blast from the past.”

However, nostalgia is only one part of what she feels. Pride, she explains, has become the more dominant emotion over time. She adds, “But I would want to associate another emotion with it, and that is pride. Every time I think about this project, I do feel very proud of having been associated with it.”

Being part of such a film at an early stage in her career feels significant to her. She shares, “Working with Reema Kagti, a writer like Varun Grover, and the renowned production houses backing it is one of those dreams an actor hopes to achieve.

I think I got that opportunity at a very early stage in my career. So I definitely feel a lot of pride in it. I take pride in telling people that I was part of something so beautiful. That is the more predominant emotion I associate with the project. ”

Reflecting on whether the film altered her professional trajectory, Riddhi offers a considered perspective. She says, “Career is the trajectory of your life. It represents a large and important part of who you are. I think it will always have twists and turns.”

She continues, “So yes, I would say Superboys Of Malegaon is one of those turns. I hope my life continues to take even more complex, more beautiful and more expansive turns. This was a beautiful one.”

The experience also led to lasting friendships. “It brought me the opportunity to work alongside incredible artistes and a wonderful team. I met and formed strong bonds with people like Adarsh Gourav, Shashank Arora, Vineet Kumar Singh, Manjiri Pupala and Muskkaan Jaferi. It took me to a different space in my life and helped me move forward from where I was at that time. It was definitely a turning point,” she concludes.
