Donald Trump claims stock market boom ‘saved’ NYPD officer’s marriage at Texas rally

President Trump claimed Friday that his economic policies and the roaring stock market saved the “sex life” of an NYPD officer whose wife previously treated him “like a dog”, during a rally in Texas.

“This wonderful, tough policeman from New York — he’s taking good care of us — and he said, ‘Sir, it’s so good. My married life has gotten so much better,’” Trump told rally-goers in Texas.

Trump quoted the cop as telling him: “My wife thought I was a loser financially. I couldn’t make any money because my 401(k) was dying for years. And now she thinks I’m the smartest financial genius ever. It’s made my sex life good… it’s given me a tremendous boost in life.”

The President’s account reappropriated his frequently told laugh-line about rising stock values making husbands appear to be geniuses to their spouses.

“So this is a big, tough cop. He said, ‘My wife treated me like a dog, and now she admires my financial genius, and I haven’t done anything. My 401(k) has gone through the roof,’” Trump went on.

“So I said, ‘Thank you very much.’ But everybody’s there, right? Everybody’s up.

Has anybody gone down with their 401(k)? Becuase if you do, you’re a loser. ”

The President appeared in Corpus Christi, a major port and refineries hub, to argue that his policies increased oil and gas production, lowering costs for American consumers.

“Nobody’s ever seen a one-year turnaround like we had,” Trump said.

“We were a laughingstock one and a half years ago, and now we’re hot. We’re hot — I was gonna say like that person in the audience, but I won’t say that, because that could be career ending.”
