Rashmika Mandanna felt divine, Vijay Deverakonda felt god-like: Jewellers reveal 10-month design journey

When Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda finally saw their complete wedding looks come together, the reaction said it all.

Describing the moment, the team at SHREE Jewellers revealed in an interview with Free Press Journal, “She said she felt divine the moment she wore it. He felt powerful and grounded, almost god-like in his presence.”

That emotional response became the true highlight of their February 26, 2026 wedding at Mementos by ITC Hotels, Ekaaya Udaipur — a ceremony where jewellery wasn’t just adornment, but identity.

Not trend-driven glamour, but legacy

The couple had approached the brand nearly a year in advance with clarity. “From the beginning, the brief was clear: this was not about trend-driven bridal glamour. It was about legacy, permanence, and identity,” the jewellers shared.

The process unfolded over 10 months. “The entire journey took 10 months, from laying out the concept to multiple design discussions, customisation, production, trials, refinements, and finally presenting the completed ceremonial looks.”

Temple architecture for the bride

Rashmika, dressed in a rustic orange and gold saree by Anamika Khanna, wore antique matte-finished gold jewellery rooted in South Indian design language.

“For the bride, the inspiration came from South Indian architecture and sculptural forms. The high-relief Nakshi work mirrors carvings found in heritage structures. The layered harams reflect ceremonial traditions passed down through generations. The waist belt references classical bridal iconography, while the hair ornaments honour age-old South Indian customs.”

Her structured Nakshi choker, layered harams centred with Goddess Lakshmi, statement jhumkas, Jada Billa, Champasaralu, vaddanam and bhashikam came together as a cohesive visual narrative steeped in tradition.

Mythic royalty for the groom

Vijay complemented her in a custom ivory dhoti and vermilion angavastram by Anamika Khanna, styled with bold Nakshi-engraved haars featuring elephant and tiger motifs.

“For the groom, the inspiration was mythic royalty. Elephant motifs symbolised wisdom and stability. Tiger elements represented agility and strength. Floral patterns softened the narrative, drawing from traditional inlay artistry. The braided textures were meant to suggest continuity and lineage.”

Broad cuffs, sculptural bajubands, a statement waist belt, earrings and even an anklet elevated his look beyond the conventional groom aesthetic. Like Rashmika, he too wore a ceremonial bhashikam.

“At the end of the day, every bride dreams of seeing her vision come to life without compromise. That moment when it all aligns. For her, this was that moment. Seeing them so sure, so excited, so completely satisfied brought us immense joy too,” the jewellers added.
