“My deepest gratitude”: Candace Owens fires back after Bride of Charlie trailer sparks backlash over Erika Kirk series

Candace Owens is not staying quiet and just hours after facing heavy backlash over her new YouTube series, she fired back online. On February 24, 2026, Candace Owens released the trailer for “Bride of Charlie: An Investigative Series” on her YouTube channel, which has more than 5 million subscribers. The series focuses on Erika Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025 at an event in Utah. The first episode premieres February 25.

The teaser spread fast across social media. Some conservative voices called it brave. Others said it crossed a line by targeting a woman who lost her husband months ago. As criticism grew, Owens posted on X, writing, “Zionists are putting in real work hours promoting our upcoming series.

I would like to extend to them all my deepest gratitude. We are a small team and couldn’t do it without your steadfast commitment to hysterics. 🙏 See you tomorrow. ”

That message only added more fuel to an already heated debate.

Candace Owens responds as Megyn Kelly, Jesús Enrique Rosas, Natalie Jean Beisner and Michelle Goldberg react to Bride of Charlie trailer

The reaction was quick and loud. Body language analyst Jesús Enrique Rosas said the trailer should be a moment for Charlie Kirk’s friends to step in. He pointed out that Matt Walsh had earlier asked Owens to ease up on Erika Kirk. Podcaster Natalie Jean Beisner called the series “offensive to both Erika and Charlie,” saying the title feels like a cruel joke about their marriage.

Megyn Kelly also addressed the issue on her show. She clarified that Candace Owens has not directly accused Erika Kirk of planning the murder. Still, she suggested the tone of the trailer raises serious concerns. In December 2025, Erika Kirk even met Owens in Nashville to calm things down, but the tension did not end.

Columnist Michelle Goldberg of The New York Times described Owens as a divisive force inside conservative media. At the same time, some viewers are backing Owens. They point to leaked January 2026 audio from a TPUSA call where Erika Kirk discussed business numbers and sounded upbeat. Candace Owens said, “In my imagination, I just thought that she would be more upset.” Supporters also mention Erika’s quick move into the CEO role and her Fox News appearance defending the group.

Others online claim there is a “pattern” in Erika Kirk’s behavior. Owens has highlighted details in past episodes, using graphics and clips to question timelines and decisions. She says she is asking questions, not making charges. Critics say the approach feels personal and harsh.

For now, the series launch has split conservative circles. Episode one drops February 25, and the debate shows no sign of slowing down.
