Emraan Hashmi as Bade Sahab in Dhurandhar 2? Letterboxd page makes fans curious

A letterboxed page of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is going viral on social media for listing Emraan Hashmi as one of the cast members in the film. The Aditya Dhar directorial has become a pop culture phenomenon for many reasons, but primarily because of all the speculation around its casting. The Letterboxd page has added more curiosity now. The page has raised questions about the cast, especially the character of Bade Sahab and who’s playing it.

The Letterboxd entry lists several returning cast members from the first film, including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, and Rakesh Bedi. Additionally, Raj Zutshi, rumoured to be portraying a Pakistani general, and Yami Gautam, speculated to be making a cameo, are also named. However, it is the appearance of Hashmi’s name that has caused the biggest stir among fans, as there are no details provided about his character.

The excitement around Hashmi’s possible involvement has led to intense speculation regarding the character he might play, particularly the mysterious figure known as ‘Bade Sahab’. This character was referenced in the first film, with many viewers wondering if Hashmi could be set to portray the antagonist in the second part. Fans have taken to social media and forums to share their theories and opinions about the casting.

Some fans have expressed their enthusiasm directly, highlighting Hashmi’s talent and potential impact on the sequel. One Redditor shared, “Damn, it’s just Emraan Hashmi’s world, and we are just living in it.” Another commented, “Omggg Emraan is a good casting, I always found him talented. I watched Haq recently and found him equally good in the movie (Yami was, of course, magnificent).”

Despite the excitement, some fans are approaching the supposed ‘leak’ with caution. Both IMDb and Letterboxd are public platforms allowing open edits, meaning any user can modify cast lists. The information listing Emraan Hashmi may not have originated from the production team or be officially confirmed. The same was acknowledged by several social media users.

One user pointed out, “They won’t spoil such a big reveal by giving the cast away on a public platform.”

Besides the casting discussions, interest in Dhurandhar: The Revenge also stems from its plot and competition at the box office. The first teaser has signalled a story of revenge, with Hamza (Ranveer Singh) seeking retribution in Lyari after the death of Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). The narrative is expected to pit Hamza against Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) and the elusive Bade Sahab, adding further intrigue to the storyline.

The film’s release date coincides with the opening of Yash’s pan-India action film Toxic, setting up a major box office clash. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on March 19.
