Sung Jinwoo has received a major new transformation in Solo Leveling: Arise, introducing a form called the “Monarch of the Heaven-Annihilating Dragons. ” The update, released on February 19, adds the new version of Jinwoo to the popular video game based on the Solo Leveling series. The transformation combines Jinwoo’s shadow abilities with dragon powers once wielded by Antares, the Monarch of Destruction. The development marks one of the most significant power upgrades for the character since the original manhwa concluded, and expands the game’s connection to the broader Solo Leveling storyline.
New form draws power from Antares
In the update, Jinwoo can be seen with wings, horns, and dragon-like spikes, alongside his signature purple aura and shadow manipulation abilities.
He is also wearing a dark trench coat and a shadow cross on his chest, similar to his appearance during the final battle in Manhwa.
According to the game’s trailer, the new form channels the power of Antares, described as the “crimson apex.” Antares was the final villain in the Solo Leveling story and was known as the most powerful Monarch. In the original series, Jinwoo defeated Antares with the help of the Rulers. The new transformation suggests that Jinwoo now wields powers once associated with that character.

The transformation has also drawn attention because of its similarity to events shown in the Solo Leveling epilogue. In a special episode, Jinwoo is temporarily possessed by Antares instead of Ashborn, the Shadow Monarch. During that sequence, Jinwoo demonstrates overwhelming strength before later regaining control.
The title “Monarch of the Heaven-Annihilating Dragons” has raised questions about whether Jinwoo takes on a new Monarch identity in this form. In later spin-offs such as Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, new Monarch titles are introduced, showing that the role can evolve.
Developers have not yet released full story details explaining how Jinwoo gains Antares’ power in the game. However, the update expands the character’s abilities and introduces new lore elements tied to the original series.
