‘The Wardrobe’ first look OUT: Divya Agarwal’s Bollywood debut horror film locks release date

The upcoming supernatural thriller ‘The Wardrobe’, starring Divya Agarwal and Rajniesh Duggall in lead roles, has locked its release date, with the makers unveiling the film’s first-look poster. Directed by Saurabhh Chaubey and backed by producer Jyoti Raj Gavali, the project promises a dark and atmospheric cinematic experience.

A haunting poster and release date reveal

The first-look poster presents a chilling visual that immediately signals danger. A mysterious woman appears to be crawling out of an old wooden wardrobe wrapped in creeping vines. A sinister red glow spills from inside, casting eerie shadows across her blood-stained white gown. Smoke and darkness deepen the unsettling mood.

The bold red title intensifies the horror aesthetic while drawing attention to the centre of the frame.

Along with the first look, the makers confirmed that the film will hit theatres on April 24, 2026, positioning it as a major horror release next year.

Divya Agarwal’s big-screen debut

For Divya Agarwal, the film marks a significant transition from reality television fame to a full-fledged Bollywood role. Known for winning Bigg Boss OTT and MTV Ace of Space, she now steps into a demanding genre that relies heavily on performance and atmosphere.

She described the project as creatively fulfilling and emotionally intense.

“This film challenged me as an actor. The story is gripping and atmospheric, and I can’t wait for the audience to experience it,” she said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. Her words suggest a role that tests both range and resilience, making this debut particularly meaningful.

A supernatural story with psychological layers

Rajniesh Duggall believes the film offers more than conventional jump scares. He emphasised that the narrative blends suspense with deeper psychological tension.

“The moment I heard the script, I knew it had something different. It blends suspense with psychological elements, and the poster gives just a glimpse of what audiences can expect,” he said.

Producer Jyoti Raj Gavali also highlighted the emotional core beneath the horror. “The Wardrobe is not just about fear, but about the unknown secrets that can change lives. From the very beginning, we wanted the first look to reflect the intensity and mystery of the story,” Gavali added.
