The iQOO 15R is set to launch in India on February 24 and will be available on Amazon. The phone is believed to be the India variant of the iQOO Z11 Turbo, which launched in China last month. The phone features Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. And despite packing a massive 7600 mAh battery, the company claims it’s India’s slimmest phone.
iQOO 15R: What we know
The iQOO 15R is designed with young consumers in mind, particularly those who enjoy mobile gaming. The smartphone supports up to 144FPS gameplay, powered by the Supercomputing Chip Q2.
Design-wise, the iQOO 15R features a square camera module housing two horizontally arranged lenses with circular outlines. The rear panel sports a distinctive chequered texture.
Performance-wise, the iQOO 15R claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 3.5 million. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and packs a massive 7,600mAh battery with 100W FlashCharge support.
The iQOO 15R ships with OriginOS 6 out of the box and comes with four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. The device also includes a One Tap Transfer feature that allows users to migrate apps and data quickly from both Android and iOS devices.
The smartphone will be available in two colour variants: Triumph Silver and Dark Knight. Additionally, the device will carry both IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The iQOO 15R includes a suite of AI tools features, such as AI Creation in Notes allow users to rewrite text, summarise documents, and correct grammar, while AI Captions provide real-time transcription and translation. The phone comes with integration of Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
For photos, users get tools like AI Erase and AI Reflection Erase to remove objects or glare, AI Magic Move to adjust subjects, AI Image Expander for extending backgrounds, and AI Image Cut-out for extracting subjects. An AI Document Scanning feature is also included to help digitise paperwork.
iQOO 15R: What we expect
Leaks suggest the iQOO 15R will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. On the camera front, the phone is likely to feature a 200-megapixel wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor. The front camera is tipped to be a 32-megapixel shooter.
