Homebound Struggles To Maintain Box Office Grip

Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor, has generated a lot of interest since its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Despite critical acclaim and praise from industry insiders, its box office collections have failed to capture the same degree of enthusiasm. The film was finally released in Indian theatres but the box office number has been quite a struggle. According to Sacnilk, Homebound earned an estimated Rs 7 lakh on Day 14 and the total domestic collection stands at Rs 3.37 crore. Globally, the film has earned about Rs 3.93 crore. Homebound opened with Rs 30 lakh and has struggled to pick up pace.

Homebound – Storyline

Homebound depicts the story of two childhood friends from a small hamlet in India who want to be police officers, expecting that the profession will earn them the respect they’ve never had. However, as they chase their dreams, their bond strained due to hurdles and professional obligations. Reem Shaikh, Harshika Parmar and Shalini Vatsa play supporting roles, with Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor.

Ananya Panday’s Work Front

The actress was last seen in the period courtroom drama, Kesari Chapter 2, along with Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan. Backed by Karan Johar, the film was released in April this year. Up next, she will be seen in Chand Mera Dil with actor Lakshaya. Helmed by Vivek Soni, the official release date of the film is yet to be announced. Apart from this, she also has Call Me Bae Season 2 in her kitty.
