Mathew Thomas’ ‘Nellikkampoyil Night Riders’ postpones release; makers share fun video

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ continues its strong theatrical run across Kerala and the makers of the upcoming

Mathew Thomas starrer ‘Nellikkampoyil Night Riders’ have made a strategic decision to postpone their film’s release.

Initially set to premiere on October 10, the romantic suspense thriller starring Mathew Thomas will now hit screens on October 24. The move is seen as a practical step to avoid a box office clash with the ongoing Kantara which has dominated the screens.

Promo video sparks laughs online

To announce the change, the makers released a creative and humorous video. In the clip, Mathew Thomas, along with Sharath Sabha and Meenakshi Unnikrishnan, is seen putting up a poster at night that reads “October 10. ”

Just as they finish, the distinct Theyyam chant from Kantara echoes in the background. This startles Mathew and the team then quickly swaps the poster for one showing the new date, October 24. The video concludes with a playful ‘Lokah’ universe reference, a nod to Kantara’s world.

The video sparked laughter online. One commented, “സത്യം പറയാൻ കാണിച്ച മനസ് (The audacity to tell the truth).” Another one commented, “അതെ ഞാനും കേട്ടതായിരുന്നു ആ sound (Yes, I also heard that sound).”

A third comment read, “Kantara be like : oiiiiii….. Kooooii…. Oooooo. ” Another one wrote, “ആ സൗണ്ട് അങ്ങനെ മറക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല (We can’t forget that sound right?”,” referring to ‘Kantara’.
