NHL insider gives major update on Aleksander Barkov and Florida Panthers injury timeline

The Florida Panthers are heading into the new NHL season with major concerns. Team captain Aleksander Barkov is recovering from ACL and MCL surgery, and many feared he would miss the entire 2025 campaign. Matthew Tkachuk’s absence adds more pressure

The loss of Matthew Tkachuk compounds Florida’s issues. He is also expected to be sidelined long-term. This leaves the Panthers without two of their most important forwards, Tkachuk has been central to the team’s success since joining. And his absence puts pressure on the rest of the roster to step up, and this double setback could test the depth of the squad early on.
