ROG Xbox Ally to arrive in India soon

The ROG Xbox Ally series was already up for pre-order in over three dozen countries. Recenlty, in an Instagram post, ASUS had confirmed the India rollout. The caption read, ‘One console. Two beasts. Infinite play. Get ready to level up like never before. The ROG XBOX Ally collab is almost here. Pre-order opens 7th Oct.’

Globally, the ROG Xbox Ally X is priced at around $999.99, while the standard ROG Xbox Ally retails for $599.99. Although Indian pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s expected to be in a similar premium bracket when converted with local taxes and import costs. Both models will be available for pre-order via the Republic of Gamers India website.

About ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally

The ROG Xbox Ally X stands out as the more advanced of the two, designed to rival compact gaming PCs. It runs Windows 11 Home, powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, and is equipped with 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM alongside a 1TB M.2 SSD. The 7-inch Full HD IPS display offers 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and AMD FreeSync Premium support for smooth, tear-free gameplay.

It also houses an 80Wh battery, a major upgrade from its predecessor, and includes a 65W fast charger stand. ASUS has clearly borrowed from Xbox’s controller DNA, offering contoured grips, impulse triggers, and assignable back buttons. With its ergonomic design, the device aims to deliver both portability and long-session comfort for AAA gaming.

Coming to the standard ROG Xbox Ally, it is also bound to be a head-turner. It packs AMD’s Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD, retaining the same 7-inch FHD 120Hz display as the X variant. It’s slightly lighter at 670g and carries a 60Wh battery, making it a more travel-friendly option without compromising on performance.

Both devices are loaded with WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a range of I/O ports, including USB-C, microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The arrival of the ROG Xbox Ally series could give a significant push to the handheld gaming category in India, which has seen growing interest thanks to the rise of cloud gaming, Xbox Game Pass, and local esports communities. With console-level specs in a portable form factor, ASUS and Microsoft are betting on India’s next generation of gamers who crave high-end performance on the go.
