Pedro Pascal reflected on his journey with the Star Wars universe during the event and said, “As soon as I saw this, I knew that it would be a new authorship of a streaming experience.”

He went on to recall growing up watching Star Wars films with his family and spoke about how meaningful it is for him to now be a part of that legacy. “But I always had a dream in my heart that it would be on a big screen because that’s how I was developed as a child. I went to the movie theatre so much with my family, and I saw the Star Wars movies on the big screen,” he added.

About Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu

The Mandalorian and Grogu is an upcoming feature directed by Jon Favreau, who has also co-written the film alongside Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor. The film is produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Filoni, and Ian Bryce, with Karen Gilchrist, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck serving as executive producers. The music is composed by Ludwig Gransson. Other than Pedro, the film also stars Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.

The project continues the story of the series The Mandalorian (2019–2023), with Pedro reprising his role as Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian, a bounty hunter. Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the film follows Djarin and his apprentice Grogu as they are recruited by the New Republic to rescue Rotta the Hutt (played by Jeremy Allen White) in exchange for crucial information about a target.
