With air pollution levels rising in many cities, air purifiers have become a common appliance in homes and offices. However, traditional air purifiers are designed to work in indoor spaces and can not be carried everywhere we go. This is where the portable solutions fill the gap. The Atovio Pebble air purifier, priced at Rs 3,499, is designed to create a small pocket of clean air around the user while on the move. Worn around the neck like a pendant, the device claims to purify the personal breathing zone and reduce up to 99.99% of pollutants in just 60 minutes. We have been using the device for sometime now and here’s what we think
Design
Unlike traditional air purifiers, Atovio’s Pebble is a wearable device, playing a big role in everyday usability.
Design-wise, it is small, compact and rounded, making it easy to carry. During our use, we found the Pebble to be small enough to fit in the palm and light enough to wear for several hours without any discomfort. The outer shell has a matte finish that makes it resistant to fingerprints, although the plastic build is noticeable.

There is a circular LED indicator on the front that helps users know whether the purifier is active or charging.
For charging, the Pebble air purifier has a USB Type-C port on the rear, which makes it convenient to recharge the device using a standard cable.
Accessories coming with the device include a conductive lanyard, lanyard adjuster, cleaning brush and USB Type-C charging cable. The wearable air purifier is worn using a lanyard attached to both sides of the device. The lanyard adjuster allows one to adjust the length of the neck strap.
Performance
Using the Atovio Pebble is easy. Charge the device to 100%. The circular LED indicator will light up when it is put to charge. Once fully charged, tap on the power button. The device offers three operating states — Normal mode, Turbo mode, and Turn Off.
It works in normal mode by default. You can enter the turbo mode with a simple tap on the power button. Pressing the power button a third time will turn it off. In normal mode, the Pebble releases negative ions at a steady level to reduce dust, smoke and other airborne particles during everyday situations. Turbo mode increases the ion output and is meant for environments with higher pollution levels, such as when the AQI crosses 200. The only issue we found is that there is no clear indicator to show whether the device is in normal mode or turbo mode.

To use it, the device needs to be worn around the neck using the lanyard so that it stays close to the face. The company recommends keeping the purifier roughly 20–25 cm away from the nose, which helps it create a small “clean air bubble” around the user’s breathing zone.
The purifier uses anion (negative ion) technology rather than a traditional HEPA filter. These ions attach to airborne pollutants such as PM2.5 particles, dust and smoke, making them heavier so they fall away from the breathing area. Because of this approach, the Pebble focuses on cleaning only the air around the wearer rather than the entire surrounding environment.
In outdoor environments, where airflow and pollution levels vary, the reduction is lower and typically ranges between 40% and 50%.

During our usage, the Pebble mostly works quietly in the background. There is no noticeable noise, and the LED indicator shows when the device is active. However, like most wearable purifiers, its performance depends heavily on the environment. It tends to work better indoors or in relatively still air, where the ion concentration can remain around the breathing zone for longer.
Overall, the Pebble performs best as a personal air purifier for the immediate breathing space, offering an additional layer of protection from dust and pollutants rather than acting as a full replacement for masks or large room air purifiers.
Verdict
Priced at Rs 3,499, the Atovio Pebble wearable air purifier offers a portable way to create a small pocket of cleaner air around the user. Its compact design, simple controls and quiet operation make it easy to wear during daily activities such as commuting or walking outdoors. However, since it works only within a limited personal space, it cannot replace a full-sized air purifier or provide the same level of filtration in highly polluted environments. That said, for users looking for an affordable and convenient personal air purifier, the Pebble can serve as a practical option to carry cleaner air wherever they go.
