Poco X8 Pro series launching in India on March 17, Max model gets 9,000mAh battery

Poco is gearing up to launch its X8 Pro series in India, comprising two smartphones — the Poco X8 Pro and the Poco X8 Pro Max. The company has confirmed the lineup will launch in India on March 17. Ahead of the launch, the Xiaomi sub-brand has revealed key specs and features of both handsets via a dedicated microsite on Flipkart.

Poco X8 Pro Series specifications and features

The Poco X8 Pro series dedicated microsite highlights the gaming capacity of the upcoming devices. The company promises zero lag and up to 120 FPS gaming.

Battery life is a major highlight of both phones. The Poco X8 Pro Max 5G houses a massive 9,000mAh battery, with the company claiming it can last more than three days on moderate use, 30 hours of online video playback, or up to 18 days on standby. It has also received TUV certification for six-year battery durability.

The smaller Poco X8 Pro 5G is no slouch either, packing a 6,500mAh battery that the brand says can deliver more than two days of backup under moderate usage, 18 hours of online video streaming, or up to 12 days of standby on a single charge. The handset has similarly been TUV-certified for five-year battery durability.

Both smartphones in the Poco X8 Pro series support 100W wired fast charging with PPS charging, as well as 27W reverse wired charging. In terms of charging speed, the Pro Max can deliver a full day’s battery life with just 10 minutes of charging, while the standard Pro variant achieves the same with around 16 minutes plugged in.

The Poco X8 Pro Max 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, while the Poco X8 Pro 5G runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC. The company claims the two handsets scored over 31,00,000 and 23,00,000 points respectively on the AnTuTu benchmark.

On the cooling front, the Poco X8 Pro 5G features a 5,300 sq mm vapour chamber paired with an 11,000 sq mm graphite layer for temperature management. The Pro Max steps things up with a larger 5,800 sq mm heat dissipation area, also complemented by a graphite layer for improved thermal performance.
