Christina Applegate says she was ‘madly in love’, recalls working with Johnny Depp

Christina Applegate, who is famed for her roles in ‘Dead to Me’, ‘Vacation’, and ‘Bad Moms’, has recently opened up about her years in the Hollywood industry. Revisiting her past in her memoir ‘You With The Sad Eyes’, the star detailed her experience working with a lot of individuals, including none other than Johnny Depp. In an excerpt from her memoir, the star detailed the ‘crush’ that she had on her co-star, and how it was to work with him.

As per Entertainment Weekly reports, the star opened up about the crush she had on Johnny Depp when she was a mere 15-year-old. She talked about looking back at her journals from childhood and how she detailed her feelings for Depp as she worked with him on ‘21 Jump Street. ’

She detailed her feelings in the book, writing, “One thing is very clear from the journals: I was in love with Johnny Depp for years. He was eight years older than me. He always behaved impeccably toward me, even though I was clearly mad about him.”

Further, she added that her feelings were never reciprocated and that she “was just one of the guys to him.” She shared that she developed these feelings as she guest-starred on ‘21 Jump Street’ as a guest star, and that in that brief time, she became “madly in love” with him. She further shared in the book that her “journals are filled with complicated and ever-changing feelings.

As for Applegate’s relationships, the famed actress went on to marry fellow actor Johnathon Schaech, though the two later got divorced in 2007. Later on, in 2013, she fell for musician Martyn LeNoble, and the two have been married ever since. They also share a daughter.
