Patrick Beverley will not face criminal charges after a Texas grand jury declined to indict him in a domestic assault case involving his teenage sister. Court records show a Fort Bend County grand jury returned a no-bill, bringing an end to months of legal uncertainty for the former NBA guard. The decision means prosecutors will not move forward with the felony allegation tied to the November 2025 incident.
Beverley, 37, had been arrested and released on a $40,000 (per KHOU.com) bond after he was accused of assault on a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation. His legal team maintained from the start that the full facts would clear him. On Monday, they said that the outcome arrived.
Grand jury clears Patrick Beverley on assault case

A grand jury in Fort Bend County reviewed the evidence and chose not to indict Beverley.
His attorneys, Rusty Hardin and Letitia Quinones-Hollins, repeated their earlier stance following the ruling.
“Several months ago, we said that when all the information was in, when a grand jury could hear all the facts of this case, Patrick Beverley would be cleared of all charges,” the attorneys said (via TMZ). “That is what happened today, when a grand jury sitting in Fort Bend County no-billed Patrick, effectively ending the case.
“Patrick wants everyone to know that he would never do anything to harm his sister and that he is very grateful that the grand jury has recognized that with their no-bill. He is thankful for all who prayed for him and supported him during this time. He is glad that the process was allowed to work as it did and his hope is that with these charges behind him now, his name and reputation will be restored.”
Beverley took to X to share his response, “I am deeply grateful for all thoughts and prayers 🙏🏾🙏🏾 for the family. We must continue to protect our children, especially our young girls. This ordeal has truly made our family stronger. ❤️Thank you for your continued support and prayers. 🙏🏾❤️”
The no-bill formally closes the criminal proceedings tied to the arrest.
Beverley had stepped away from public appearances, including his podcast work, in the days after the allegation surfaced.
Patrick Beverley assault case: Why was the ex-Bucks star accused?
The case stemmed from a dispute at Beverley’s home in November 2025. According to a probable cause affidavit, his 15-year-old sister told police an argument began after she left home to meet her boyfriend. She alleged that Beverley “grabbed her by her neck with both hands, and picked her up off the ground, by having her feet come up from the floor” and that she struggled to breathe for up to 30 seconds.
Court documents also state she claimed he “squeezed her neck causing her to feel pain,” and later punched her “approximately one time on her left eye with a closed fist.” Officers noted markings on her neck and petechiae in her eyes when they arrived at the scene.
Beverley denied wrongdoing shortly after his release, writing on social media, “Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet.” His attorneys argued that the initial account did not reflect the full context of the situation.
With the grand jury’s decision now on record, the Patrick Beverley assault case concludes without charges.
