GNDU Researchers Develop First Forearm Twisting Machine Prototype

Key Takeaways

  • GNDU researchers develop first-of-its-kind ‘Forearm Twisting Machine’ prototype
  • Device enhances wrist and forearm strength through controlled rotation
  • Design copyright secured, marking university innovation milestone
  • Prototype installed at University Gym for practical training use

In a significant breakthrough for sports science, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) researchers have created India’s first ‘Forearm Twisting Machine’ – a specialized gym equipment designed to strengthen wrists and forearms through controlled rotational movements.

Innovation in Physical Training

The groundbreaking fitness device developed by Dr Aqil Rasool and Dr Parminder Singh from GNDU’s Department of Physical Education serves athletes, rehabilitation patients, and fitness enthusiasts. The researchers have successfully built a working prototype and secured design copyright for this original creation.

“Our prototype works on several principles and we will continue to work on it for further improvement,” said Dr Rasool, highlighting the development team’s commitment to ongoing refinement.

Practical Implementation

The machine prototype has been formally installed at the University Gym, enabling direct integration of research innovation into practical training environments. This move represents GNDU’s focused approach to bridging academic research with real-world applications.

Vice-Chancellor Karamjeet Singh emphasized that this achievement reflects GNDU’s commitment to fostering research, innovation, and practical application in physical education, aligning with the university’s mission to promote excellence across teaching, research, and community engagement.
