WBCSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Registration begins, direct link to apply here

The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) has released the Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 notification. Online applications have started from February 26, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply through the official WBCSC portal. The recruitment is for Assistant Professor posts in government-aided colleges across West Bengal. Candidates must meet the required educational qualification and age limit before applying. The last date to submit the online application form is April 15, 2026. Applications will be accepted only in online mode. Candidates are advised to read the detailed notification carefully before filling out the form to avoid mistakes.

Important dates and eligibility criteria

The online registration process began on February 26, 2026. The last date to apply is April 15, 2026, up to 11:59 pm. The age limit will be calculated as on January 1, 2026. The upper age limit is 40 years for general category candidates. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per government rules.

Candidates must have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject. They must have qualified NET, SET or SLET.

Candidates who hold a PhD degree as per norms of the University Grants Commission are exempted from NET requirement. All qualifications must be completed before the last date of application.

How to apply for WBCSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026

Candidates must apply online through the official website of the West Bengal College Service Commission. No offline applications will be accepted.

  1. Visit the official website of WBCSC.

  2. Click on the link for “Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 (Advt. No. 1/2026)”.

  3. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number. Create a login ID and password.

  4. Log in using the registered credentials.

  5. Fill in personal details such as name, date of birth, category and contact information.

  6. Enter academic qualifications, NET/SET/SLET or PhD details, and teaching or research experience.

  7. Upload scanned copies of required documents, photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

  8. Pay the application fee online through the available payment options.

  9. Review the application form carefully before final submission.

  10. Submit the form and download the confirmation page. Take a printout for future reference.

Application fee and selection process

The application fee is Rs 2,500 for general category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD categories need to pay Rs 1,250. The fee must be paid online. The fee once paid will not be refunded.

The selection process will be based on academic record, research work, teaching experience and interview performance. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in different stages. Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professors in state-aided colleges of West Bengal.
