The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board will close the application window for the Excise and Taxation Inspector recruitment on March 6, 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied must complete the online registration before the deadline. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 01/2026. A total of 197 vacancies have been announced for the post.

The online application process began on February 14, 2026. Interested candidates must submit their forms through the official website. After March 6, no new applications will be accepted. The last date to apply online is March 6, 2026. Candidates must complete registration, fill in personal and educational details, upload documents, and pay the application fee within the deadline. The board has clearly stated that late submissions will not be considered under any condition.

Applicants should keep a copy of the submitted form and fee receipt for future reference. Any mistake in the application form may lead to rejection.

Vacancy details and eligibility criteria

A total of 197 posts have been notified for Excise and Taxation Inspector. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Punjabi must have been studied at the matriculation level. Applicants must also possess a basic computer qualification as specified in the notification.

The minimum age required is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 37 years. Age relaxation will be given to reserved categories as per Punjab government rules. Candidates are advised to check the official notification for full eligibility conditions before submitting the form.

Selection process and exam pattern

The selection process consists of a written examination followed by document verification. There will be no interview. The written test will carry 100 marks and will be objective in nature. The duration of the exam will be two hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for each wrong answer.

The paper will include sections on General Awareness, Punjab history and culture, reasoning, arithmetic, computer knowledge, and language proficiency in Punjabi or English. Candidates must prepare according to the prescribed syllabus.

With only a few days left before the deadline, eligible candidates should apply without delay. The board is expected to announce the examination date after the application process closes.
