MPESB recruitment 2026: Apply for 1,679 posts in forest and jail departments, direct link here

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has started the application process for recruitment to several posts in the state’s forest and jail departments. A total of 1,679 vacancies have been announced for posts such as Forest Guard, Field Guard, Jail Warder and Assistant Jail Superintendent.

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online through the official MPESB website. The last date to submit the application form is March 14, 2026. Applicants will also get a short window to make corrections in their forms until March 19, 2026.

The recruitment examination is scheduled to begin from April 7, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies in important state departments responsible for forest protection and prison administration.

Vacancy details and eligibility

The recruitment drive includes vacancies across multiple posts. According to the notification, 728 posts are available for Forest Guard, 169 posts for Field Guard, 757 posts for Jail Warder, and 25 posts for Assistant Jail Superintendent.

The educational qualification varies depending on the post.

Candidates applying for Forest Guard and Field Guard posts must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board. For the Jail Warder post, candidates must have passed Class 12. Those applying for Assistant Jail Superintendent should hold a graduate degree in any discipline.

The minimum age required is 18 years, while the maximum age limit generally ranges between 33 and 38 years, depending on the post and category. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per state government rules.

Selection process and exam pattern

The selection process will include multiple stages. Candidates will first appear for a written examination. Those who qualify will be called for Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). After this, shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and medical examination.

The written test will be conducted in an objective format with 100 multiple-choice questions. Questions will be asked from subjects such as general knowledge, general science, Hindi, English and mathematics.

Candidates preparing for the exam should check the detailed syllabus and physical eligibility requirements mentioned in the official notification before applying.
