Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away at the age of 42 after suffering a heart attack in Amritsar, leaving the film industry and his fans in shock. The Punjabi actor and professional bodybuilder appeared in several Hindi films, including Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and the Sidharth Malhotra–Riteish Deshmukh starrer Marjaavaan. Sidharth Malhotra, who worked with Ghuman in Marjaavaan, expressed his grief, and shared a picture with his co-actor from the sets of the film. Director Milap Zaveri also paid tribute to Ghuman, and wrote that he will always cherish the memories they shared while filming Marjaavaan. Ghuman played the role of Rakka in the 2019 film.

On Friday, Sidharth Malhotra took to his Instagram stories to share a photo with Varinder Singh Ghuman. Expressing grief over his Marjaavaan co-actor’s demise, Sidharth wrote, “Om Shanti,” along with a heartbreak emoji. The throwback picture shows Sidharth and Varinder Singh Ghuman on the film set, posing next to each other. Meanwhile, Marjaavaan director Milap Zaveri also shared a set of throwback pictures from the film’s shoot. The pictures feature Varinder, Sidharth, Milap Zaveri and Riteish Deshmukh. In his caption, he expressed his shock over Ghuman’s death.

Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away on October 9 due to a heart attack. He was 42. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Member of Parliament, confirmed Ghuman’s death via a post on X and wrote, “Hearing the news of the sudden demise of Punjab’s famous bodybuilder and actor Virender Singh Ghuman ji has left my heart very saddened. With his hard work, discipline, and ability, he illuminated Punjab’s name across the world. May Waheguru ji grant his soul eternal abode at His feet and give strength to the family to bear this sorrowful blow.”

Who Was Varinder Singh Ghuman?

Varinder Singh Ghuman was a renowned bodybuilder and actor. He shot to fame after winning the Mr. India title in 2009 and securing second place in the Mr. Asia competition. He became the first Indian bodybuilder to earn an IFBB pro card and represented Arnold Schwarzenegger’s brand in Asia.

After making his acting debut with the Punjabi film Kabaddi Once More in 2012, he acted in Hindi films such as Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans (2014) and Marjaavaan (2019). His most recent appearance was in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 (2023), where he played a supporting role.
