Farah Khan recalls Salman Khan breaking down while filming Sau Dard Hai: ‘I don’t know what was going on in his life’

Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently opened up about an emotional moment involving Salman Khan while shooting the song Sau Dard Hai from the film Jaan-E-Mann.

In a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Farah revealed that Salman didn’t rely on glycerine for the emotional sequence and actually broke down while filming the scene.

‘He actually cried in that scene’

Farah shared that she shares a close bond with Salman dating back to their childhood and even mentioned that the superstar recently attended her birthday celebration. Speaking about his personality, she said that while Salman has a dry and sarcastic sense of humour, he is also extremely soft-hearted.

Reflecting on Jaan-E-Mann, Farah said she believes the film was beautiful and added that some of her best work as a choreographer was in it.

“The songs are so underrated and the way they are picturised. Voh jo Salman Brooklyn Bridge pe roya hai na, voh actually roya hai. I don’t know what was going on in his life at that time, but it was the first time I saw Salman internalise his pain,” she said.

She further recalled the moment from the shoot, adding that it was completely real and not staged.

“Voh jo khada hoke roya… there was no glycerine, nothing. He just broke down crying there and it was magic.

After the movie didn’t do well, I also broke down crying,” Farah added.

‘He doesn’t hide from controversies’

Farah also spoke about how Salman deals with controversies and public scrutiny. According to her, the actor doesn’t run away from criticism but instead blocks out the noise and continues focusing on his work.

She added that throughout his long career, Salman has rarely taken holidays or even Sundays off. Addressing the common perception that he often arrives late on sets, Farah said the actor would usually stay back until the work was finished.
