Actress Aahana Kumra, who recently got evicted from the reality show Rise And Fall, has opened up about receiving scary death and rape threats from fans of fellow contestant Pawan Singh. Even though she and Singh had already cleared the air and apologised to each other on stage, Kumra says the harassment continued online, forcing her to report it to the show’s makers.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Kumra described the severity of the messages she received. “I came out of the show and got a lot of death and rape threats,” she said, adding that she forwarded screenshots to the show’s makers. “So why was I getting such threats? Maine toh aisi koi baat nahi kahi thi (I didn’t say any such thing).” Kumra clarified that she neither abused anyone on the show nor acted offensively.

Reflecting on the situation, she expressed her disbelief at the intensity of the harassment, “I was like, oh wow, hum log kaunse zamane mein reh rahe hain? (What era are we living in?) Kis sadi me hai ki meri ek baat kehney par mujhe itney threats mil rahe hai, itni cheeze mere baare mein boli ja rahi hai—par kisi aur ko kuch nahi kaha ja raha (Which century are we in that for saying one thing, I am receiving so many threats, so many things are being said about me—but no one else is being told anything).”

Kumra explained that while she had said something Singh’s fans disliked, the matter was resolved on stage. “In fact, today I hold him in high regard, kyunki bahut contestants ne mere baare mein bahut kuch kaha aur aaj tak sorry nahi bola (because many contestants said a lot about me and haven’t apologized till today),” she stated. She recalled a moment of reconciliation when she touched Singh’s mother’s feet, and he responded on stage: “Agar main aapse sorry bol doon toh main chhota nahi ho jaunga (If I say sorry to you, I won’t become less as a person).”

Kumra noted that she expected fans to respect the resolution between them. “I understand ki log gussa ho jaate hain, aur unhe lagta hai ki maine kuch aisa keh diya jo unhe bura laga (I understand that people get angry, and they feel that I said something that hurt them),” she added.

Outside of reality television, Aahana Kumra was last seen in the film Salaam Venky, starring Kajol and Vishal Jethwa, which released in December 2022.
