Sona Comstar partners with NEURA Robotics to develop humanoid and industrial robots; Shares up 4.2% intraday

Sona BLW Precision Forgings (Sona Comstar), a global mobility technology company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Germany-based NEURA Robotics GmbH to jointly develop advanced technologies, components, and sub-assemblies.

According to the regulatory filing by Sona Comstar, the two companies will also work together on the industrialization of robots and humanoids in India and other global markets.

The collaboration with NEURA Robotics is expected to boost Sona Comstar’s role in developing advanced automation solutions and in promoting products that are “Made in India.”

Sona Comstar’s expansion beyond automotive

Sona Comstar, which has its expertise in electric, personalized, intelligent, and connected (EPIC) mobility technologies, aims to expand beyond the automotive sector through this partnership. The company has also established capabilities in electric powertrains such as motors, inverters, and gearboxes.

Commenting on the partnership, Vivek Vikram Singh, MD & Group CEO of Sona Comstar, said, “ By combining Sona Comstar’s engineering and manufacturing expertise with NEURA’s pioneering cognitive robotics technologies, we are well-positioned to deliver world-class solutions for the global market.”
