Tata Punch EV vs Citroen eC3: Range, specs, pricing compared

The affordable electric car space in India is steadily expanding, and two of the most accessible options today are the newly-refreshed Punch EV from Tata Motors and the eC3 from Citroen. Here’s a closer look at how the two electric cars compare in terms of range, specifications and pricing.

Tata Punch EV vs Citroen eC3: Battery, range and performance

The Punch EV is offered with two battery pack options: 30 kWh and 40 kWh. The larger battery version delivers a claimed MIDC range of up to 468 km, while the smaller battery variant offers about 365–375 km on a full charge. In real-world conditions, Tata claims a C75 range of around 260–275 km for the 30 kWh version and about 335–350 km for the 40 kWh model.

Its electric motor produces up to 130 hp and 154 Nm of torque in the long-range version. The smaller battery variant produces 88 hp and 154 Nm.

The eC3, on the other hand, comes with a single 29.2 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 246 km on a full charge. In comparison, the eC3 produces 57 hp and 143 Nm of torque.

Tata Punch EV vs Citroen eC3: Charging comparison

Both cars support DC fast charging. The Punch EV can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes using a DC fast charger. It also supports AC charging options including 3. 3 kW and 7. 2 kW chargers.

The eC3 can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 57 minutes using a DC fast charger, while a standard 15A socket takes about 10.5 hours for a full charge.

Tata Punch EV vs Citroen eC3: Price comparison

The Punch EV is priced from about Rs 9. 66 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to around Rs 12. 59 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the battery pack and variant. It also offers BaaS scheme with prices starting at Rs 6. 49 lakh and Rs 2. 6 per km for battery rental. On the other hand, the eC3 is priced from Rs 12. 90 lakh, ex-showroom.
