India, the defending champions, responded in style with a dominant 72-run victory over Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
After West Indies’ heavy defeat to South Africa, the equation is simple for the Suryakumar Yadav-led side: defeat West Indies in their final Super Eight clash at Eden Gardens on March 1 and they are through to the semi-finals — irrespective of the margin.
However, if rain forces a washout, West Indies would move to three points and seal qualification instead.
