OpenAI and Microsoft release joint statement on their partnership: What the two AI companies said

Microsoft and OpenAI have released a joint statement saying that new funding and expanded partnerships with Amazon, Nvidia and Softbank have no impact on their relationship and remain exactly as outlined in our October 2025 update. Both the companies listed addressed all the core pillars of their partnership, saying that the two companies intentionally designed the 2025 pact that will give them room to pursue independent opportunities.

OpenAI announced that Amazon is investing $50 billion, Nvidia $30 billion and SoftBank $30 billion in the round – a total of $110B in new investment at a $730B pre-money valuation. With Amazon, OpenAI will bring a new generation of products to market, especially around new enterprise products, said OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. He praised Nvidia “for their continued trust” and called SoftBank “an incredible and high-conviction partner. ”
