From sitar stage to fashion front row: Anoushka Shankar stuns at Raw Mango’s London debut

There was something quietly moving about seeing Anoushka Shankar in the front row as Raw Mango made its London Fashion Week debut. No drama, no need for spectacle. Just a calm confidence that felt very real. The sitar maestro attended the show wearing a look from the Fall/Winter 2026 collection, It’s Not About The Flower.

And you could sense this moment meant more than just fashion. Later, Anoushka shared glimpses from the evening online, speaking about how special it felt to watch a label she has supported for years take centre stage in London. She’s worn Raw Mango while performing, in everyday life, and even collaborated on custom outfits.

So seeing the brand step onto an international runway clearly felt personal. Her words about founder Sanjay Garg were warm and sincere – less praise, more admiration from someone who has watched the journey closely.

The collection itself was built around a soft idea: how a garland sits, moves, and settles on the body. Anoushka’s outfit captured that beautifully. She wore a silk satin dress adorned with handcrafted champa flowers, each one shaped by hand using silk.

The flowers weren’t loud or overly decorative. They felt delicate, almost alive, placed thoughtfully across the monochrome silhouette. Small pollen details added texture, giving the surface depth when it caught the light.

Her styling stayed true to that mood. Anoushka did her own hair and makeup, something she openly mentioned. And honestly, it showed. The look felt relaxed and personal, not overly styled. The dress was paired with an ivory quilted sleeveless top with soft petal detailing – a quiet nod to the floral theme without making it obvious.

Then came the jewellery. The Rhombus Drop Earrings by Forevermark added just enough shine. Crafted in white gold and set with clean lines of diamonds, they brought elegance without distraction. You noticed them, but they never competed with the outfit.

The audience reflected the importance of the evening. Fashion insiders, artists, filmmakers, and cultural voices gathered to witness the moment.

Names like Akshata Murty, Gurinder Chadha, and several artists and creatives were in attendance. But beyond who sat where, the evening felt bigger than a guest list. It felt like Indian craft quietly claiming its space on a global runway – confident, rooted, and completely at ease being seen.
