Trump Ends Alliance With Marjorie Taylor Greene Over Epstein Files

Trump Cuts Ties With Marjorie Taylor Greene, Calls Her ‘Traitor’

Former President Donald Trump has publicly ended his alliance with prominent MAGA figure Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing her of betraying the Republican Party and moving “far left.” The dramatic split follows Greene’s push to release Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.

Key Takeaways

  • Trump withdrew his endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene via Truth Social posts
  • He accused her of constant complaining and being a “disgrace” to the GOP
  • Greene claims the split resulted from her push to release Epstein files
  • A House vote on releasing remaining Epstein documents is scheduled next week

Trump’s Public Condemnation

In a series of Truth Social posts on Saturday, Trump announced he was withdrawing all support for the veteran GOP lawmaker. “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green [sic] is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” he wrote.

Trump expressed frustration that despite his “Record Achievements,” all he sees “‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” He revealed the dispute began after he shared a poll showing her 12% approval rating in Georgia and advised against her running for senator or governor.

Greene’s Epstein Files Allegation

Greene responded on X, claiming Trump withdrew support because she pressured the Justice Department to release all remaining Jeffrey Epstein files. The convicted child sex trafficker allegedly died by suicide in jail in 2019.

“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” Greene wrote.

She suggested Trump was making an example of her to “scare all the other Republicans before next week’s vote to release the Epstein files.” A petition to force this vote received enough signatures on Wednesday.

Recent Epstein Document Developments

Earlier this week, the US House Oversight Committee released approximately 20,000 documents related to Epstein’s estate. House Democrats subsequently published an email from the files where Epstein alleged that Trump “knew about the girls.”

Shortly after, Trump ordered an investigation into Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats including Bill Clinton, calling the allegations the “Epstein Hoax” and accusing opponents of using it for political distraction.
