Vodafone Idea has increased the price of its popular Rs 1,999 annual prepaid plan by Rs 250, now costing subscribers Rs 2,249. The telecom operator states this revision was necessary due to unsustainable pricing, marking another price hike in the industry expected to continue through 2025.

Comparison with Airtel
Vi’s new Rs 2,249 plan now directly competes with Airtel’s similarly priced offering. Both provide unlimited calling, 3,600 SMS, and 30GB data with one-year validity. However, Airtel typically includes additional benefits like Perplexity Pro AI access and free Hello Tunes.
According to a Telecom Talk report, Vodafone Idea offers approximately 100 prepaid plans to its customer base. This price adjustment affects the company’s annual voice-centric plan subscribers who now pay more but receive enhanced data benefits in return.
