AI-powered school promises kids they will earn $1M by graduation or full tuition refund

Education is expensive. Parents pay lakhs of rupees in fees just for schools, let alone higher education. But one school in the US is offering something different. A promise that your child be a millionaire by the time they graduate. Alpha School, an AI-driven school based in the US, says that they will give you a full refund if your child does not earn this sum by the time of their graduation.

On X, Alpha School’s Cameron Sorsby announced a new programme, specifically for kids who want to become entrepreneurs. He wrote, “Our promise: Make $1 million [roughly Rs 9.25 crore] by graduation, or receive a full tuition refund.”

Sorsby insisted that the school will have the “best team in the world” to achieve this. And for this, Alpha School had started hiring. He added, “We’re looking for 2-3 exceptional coaches to help us guide the students towards achieving this aggressive but achievable goal.”

What is Alpha School?

Alpha School seems to have a different approach when it comes to teaching. Instead of having teachers, the institute claims that a student can complete an entire day’s worth of academics in just two hours with AI. The AI system uses tools like ChatGPT and Claude, to assess the knowledge of a student and tailor their education plan.

Alpha School’s founder MacKenzie Price claims that its students score in the top 1-2 per cent in the US. Over 90 per cent of students said they love going to school.

And the rest of the day is used for teaching life skills or passion projects, and co-curricular activities. While the school has not detailed the entrepreneurship curriculum, it is likely that students will be asked to start a business and be guided by their coaches.

How much does it cost?

Alpha School currently has over 20 locations across the US. However, the high school programme is limited to the Austin, Texas location. According to the official website, Alpha High’s tuition fee is $40,000 (roughly Rs 37 lakhs).

As per Sorsby’s post, the school will give parents a complete refund of this fee if their child does not earn a $1 million by the time they graduate.

You can become AI coach for students

Cameron Sorsby added that students will not get lectures. Instead, the hired coaches will teach them skills. He wrote, “You won’t be giving lectures or assigning homework. You’ll be grilling them on their P&L, driving them to the car wash they bought, critiquing their email funnels, pushing them to do things 99% of the world doesn’t believe is possible.”

The job listing states that the coach can earn $150,000 (roughly Rs 1.38 crore) per year.
