Nvidia is working on an open-source platform for AI agents that could change how companies use automation at work. Reports suggest the project is named NemoClaw. If the rumours are accurate, Nvidia has already begun pitching the platform to enterprise software companies ahead of its upcoming developer conference in San Jose. Unlike many existing platforms that rely heavily on specific hardware, NemoClaw is expected to work even for companies that do not use Nvidia chipsets. The platform is designed to help businesses deploy AI agents that can complete tasks across multiple software systems with minimal human input.

NemoClaw is based on a new idea called ‘AI agents’. These are software programs that run on a person’s computer and can complete tasks that have several steps, even with very little help from the user. They are like a more advanced version of regular chatbots. Normal chatbots mainly answer questions when you type something. But AI agents can plan what to do and take actions in different apps, which helps them finish more complicated tasks.

The AI agents became popular after OpenClaw (initially known as Clawdbot) gained widespread attention in Silicon Valley. It was one of the first viral open-sourced AI tool that could run on personal computers and complete real work tasks without human intervention. Later, its creator Peter Steinberger joined OpenAI to help build the next generation of personal AI agents.
At the same time, these technologies have raised concerns within companies because autonomous tools can sometimes behave unpredictably. Some organisations, including Meta, have reportedly asked employees not to run similar agents on work machines. In one widely shared example, an AI agent accidentally deleted a large number of emails from a user’s inbox. Nvidia is said to be adding additional privacy and security layers to reduce the chances of such incidents.

According to reports, Nvidia has already approached several major enterprise technology companies about potential collaboration on NemoClaw. Reports also suggest that early collaborators may receive access to the platform before its wider release and could help shape how the project develops in its early stages.
