US Army veteran dragged out of Senate for protesting war, gets arm broken

A United States Marine Corps veteran was removed from Capitol Hill by the police officers and Republican Senator Tim Sheehy, after he tried to interrupt an ongoing hearing. The man, identified as Brian McGinnis, expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent Middle East tensions and said that the United States should not fight a war that was spearheaded by Israel. The veteran got his hand broken as a tussle broke out between him, the police, and the Republican senator.

“Israel is the reason for this war. America does not want to fight this war for Israel. America does not send its sons and daughters to war for Israel,” the Maritime officer was heard saying while the hearing was going on. Expressing his rage, he further mentioned, “No one wants from the US wants to join the war for Israel.”

However, the veteran could not complete his words as the police personnel intervened and started taking him away from the spot by force. They were also joined by Tim Sheehy, a Republican Senator from Montana. McGinis, who once had an unsuccessful run as a Green Party candidate in North Carolina’s Senate race, however, did not stop and kept on blaming the US administration for its involvement in the present-day conflict in the Middle East.

Attempting to pull McGinins out of the room, the police took him near the doorway and lifted him. The veteran’s left hand got struck between the door and the frame. Sheehy, who was assisting the police in the process, tried to dislodge the arm when someone accused him of breaking it.

A report by CBS News mentioned that someone later asked Sheehy whether his left hand was fine. The army veteran expressed that his hand was injured and not okay.

Finally, the police were successful in escorting McGinnis out of the room. He kept on screaming that his hand was broken.
