Russia Captures Three Ukrainian Villages Amid Peace Talks

Russia Claims Capture of Three Eastern Ukrainian Villages

Russian forces have seized three more villages in eastern Ukraine, according to Moscow’s defense ministry, as international talks on a controversial peace plan intensify.

Key Developments

  • Russia captured Petrivske in Donetsk region
  • Troops also took Tikhe and Otradne in Dnipropetrovsk region
  • Advance comes ahead of Geneva peace talks
  • Ukraine faces November 27 deadline for Trump peace plan

Military Situation

Ukrainian forces are struggling to maintain control of key eastern strongholds as Russian troops continue making steady territorial gains. The latest captures represent another strategic advance for Moscow’s ongoing offensive.

Peace Plan Controversy

The military developments coincide with crucial Geneva discussions involving US, Ukrainian, and European officials regarding President Donald Trump’s 28-point peace proposal. The plan has sparked controversy for requiring significant concessions from Ukraine.

Kyiv is seeking modifications to the draft, which currently accepts several of Russia’s hardline demands. The proposal would force Ukraine to surrender territory, reduce its military capacity, and permanently renounce NATO membership aspirations.

International Response

While offering Western security guarantees to protect Ukraine from future Russian aggression, the plan has drawn mixed reactions. Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed support, stating the proposal could “lay the foundation” for a final peace agreement.

However, Putin has simultaneously threatened additional territorial seizures if Ukraine rejects the negotiation framework, creating pressure on Kyiv as the November 27 approval deadline approaches.
