Who Decides the Winner?
The Norwegian Nobel Committee is made up of 5 members, all appointed by Norway’s 169-member parliament, the Storting. The members include human rights advocate Jorgen Watne Frydnes, foreign policy expert Asle Toje, former acting Prime Minister Anne Enger, ex-Minister of Education Kristin Clemet, and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Gry Larsen. Together, they review nominations and select the winner each year.

Experts, including Nina Graeger, director of the Peace Research Institute Oslo, have said that if Trump were able to pressure Russia to end the war in Ukraine or Israel to halt its conflict in Gaza, he could be considered a serious contender for the Nobel Peace Prize, Sky News reported.
Now that an agreement has reached between Hamas and Israel before the Nobel announcement, it could become a possibility. According to Alfred Nobel’s will, the prize is meant for them “who have done the most or best to advance fellowship among nations”.

Kremlin said that Russia would back US President Donald Trump’s candidature for the Nobel Peace Prize, state news agency TASS quoted key aide Yuri Ushakov as saying on Friday.
