Mass Shooting at South Carolina Bar Leaves 4 Dead, 20 Injured
A mass shooting at a crowded bar in South Carolina on Sunday resulted in four fatalities and at least 20 people injured, with four victims in critical condition.
The incident occurred at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St Helena Island. Sheriff’s deputies arriving at the scene found a large crowd and multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.
“Multiple victims and witnesses ran to the nearby businesses and properties seeking shelter from the gunshots,” the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on the social media platform X.
“This is a tragic and difficult incident for everyone. We ask for your patience as we continue to investigate this incident. Our thoughts are with all of the victims and their loved ones.”
Officials confirmed four individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released to the public.
