Ex-NBA Star Patrick Beverley Charged With Felony Assault in Texas

Former NBA Star Patrick Beverley Faces Felony Assault Charge in Texas

Former NBA player Patrick Beverley was arrested in Texas on Friday and charged with felony assault on a family member, specifically for impeding breathing or circulation.

Key Details:

  • Arrested by Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office
  • Charged with assault on family/household member
  • Incident described as “violent” between family members
  • Attorney suggests incident involved Beverley’s minor sister

According to FOX 26, deputies responded to a residence in Fort Bend County following assault reports. Court records show the 37-year-old former Milwaukee Bucks guard faces a serious felony charge.

Beverley’s Defense Statement

Beverley’s attorney, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, released a statement posted on the player’s social media:

“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister — a young lady, a minor. Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court.”

Beverley’s Response and Career Status

In an early post on X, Beverley stated: “Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv.”

The former NBA guard last played for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2024. Earlier this year, he played in the Israeli Basketball Premier League before parting ways with Hapoel Tel Aviv in February.

TMZ Sports first reported the arrest, though specific details about the incident remain limited as the case develops.
