The officials, speaking anonymously, confirmed the team was traveling ahead of the summit celebrating the recently brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Qatar played a central mediation role alongside Egypt and the United States, with Turkey joining negotiations earlier this month.
Summit Leadership and Attendance
According to an Egyptian presidency statement, the Sharm el-Sheikh summit will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi and US President Donald Trump. The event will host more than two dozen world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
