In an official statement, the US Embassy confirmed a car exploded near the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in central Delhi on November 10, 2025. While the cause remains unknown, the Government of India has placed several states on high alert.

Several diplomatic missions expressed solidarity with India following the explosion. British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron shared an updated travel advisory, stating: “My thoughts are with all those affected by the explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi today.”

The High Commission of Sri Lanka conveyed “deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives” while Morocco’s embassy expressed “sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones.”

Australia’s High Commissioner Philip Green added: “Our deepest condolences go out to all those affected by the incident this evening near Delhi’s #RedFort. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones.”

Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort at 7 pm on Monday. The explosion injured pedestrians and damaged nearby vehicles.

Security teams from Delhi Crime Branch and Special Branch reached the spot within 10 minutes of receiving blast information. The incident occurred near Gate 1 of the Red Fort Metro station, with casualties confirmed by LNJP Hospital officials.
