Vivo has officially announced the India rollout schedule for its latest Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update. The software, which debuted in China in October 2025, will start reaching Indian users from early November.

The Vivo X200 series will be the first to get the update, with other flagship and mid-range models following in subsequent months. The phased rollout is scheduled to conclude in the first half of 2026.

What’s New in OriginOS 6?

First showcased at the Vivo Developer Conference 2025, OriginOS 6 delivers significant performance and design improvements. The update introduces the Origin Smooth Engine for better system fluidity and responsiveness.

It also incorporates Ultra-core Computing and Memory Fusion technology to handle demanding tasks more efficiently. Vivo claims the update allows users to open albums with up to 5,000 photos within seconds, offering a 106% improvement in data loading speed compared to the previous version.

Enhanced User Experience Features

OriginOS 6 includes a dual-rendering architecture for better graphics performance, along with Morphing and One-Shot Animations for smoother transitions. The interface features a “soft Spring effect” where UI elements dynamically stretch and adjust.

Aesthetically, the update adds Light and Shadow Space, Dynamic Glow, and System Lighting for a more immersive experience. It also introduces the Vivo Sans font, supporting over 40 languages.

Origin Island: Your Smart Assistant

A standout feature is Origin Island, a smart hub that provides real-time suggestions and live activity information. This includes music controls, quick access to copied numbers for calls or messages, and meeting reminders with one-tap “Join” options.

Notably, OriginOS 6 enables cross-device connectivity with Apple products, creating a bridge between Android and iOS ecosystems.

Major Shift for Global Users

Unlike Chinese users who received OriginOS 5, international Vivo users are jumping directly from Funtouch OS 15 to OriginOS 6. This marks Vivo’s move toward a unified software experience across all regions.

The complete rollout will continue until mid-2026, with premium devices receiving priority access followed by budget series.
