Zoho’s Arattai Gets System-Wide End-to-End Encryption
Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has announced that Arattai, the company’s WhatsApp competitor, will implement mandatory system-wide end-to-end encryption for all users. The feature is scheduled to deploy within days as a “forced upgrade” due to its significant technical nature.
From User Feedback to Final Decision
Earlier this month, Vembu had sought user input on how to implement E2EE, presenting two options: system-wide encryption or allowing users to enable it for individual chats. The company has now decided on a comprehensive, system-wide approach.
“If all goes well, we plan to deploy in a few days. It will be a forced upgrade on all because it is a drastic change,” Vembu wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The announcement confirms Zoho’s commitment to privacy-focused messaging, positioning Arattai as a secure alternative in the competitive messaging landscape.
