OnePlus OxygenOS 16 Launches in India with Android 16 & AI Features

OnePlus OxygenOS 16 Launches in India with Android 16 and Major AI Upgrades

OnePlus has officially launched OxygenOS 16 in India, powered by Android 16. The update introduces significant performance enhancements, a suite of new AI features, and a refined user interface.

Key Takeaways

  • Powered by the latest Android 16 operating system.
  • Introduces advanced AI features, including the upgraded Plus Mind.
  • Enhances visual experience with Fluid animations and a new Flux Theme.
  • Adds practical functionality like resizable icons and lock screen widgets.

Fluid Animations with Parallel Processing 2.0

OnePlus uses its ‘Parallel Processing 2.0’ technology to deliver exceptionally smooth animations. This allows animations to start before the previous action is fully complete, resulting in fluid app transitions, navigation gestures, and overall system interactions.

Customizable Home Screen and Tablet UI

Users can now resize app icons and folders directly from the home screen. For tablets, the UI is optimized with Open Canvas, allowing up to five apps to run simultaneously—three in split view and two in floating windows.

Enhanced Lock Screen and Visual Themes

The new Flux Theme 2.0 supports Motion Photos and video wallpapers. A full-screen Always on Display (AOD) shows your wallpaper and key information. A major user-requested feature—lock screen widgets—has also been added, with stacking options based on your theme.

Fluid Cloud for Real-Time Updates

The Fluid Cloud feature displays real-time alerts and live updates from apps like Spotify, sports platforms, and food delivery services directly on the lock screen. The interface also features Gaussian blur effects, rounded corners, and a translucent design in areas like Quick Settings.

Plus Mind: A Smarter AI Experience

Plus Mind, OnePlus’s AI feature, receives a substantial upgrade. Initially a decorated screenshot tool, it now allows users to record voice notes of up to one minute by holding the Plus Key and supports long screenshot capture for saving articles. Integrated with , users can search and ask questions about their saved screenshots and notes directly via the AI assistant.
