Oakley Meta HSTN Smart Glasses Launch in India on December 1

Oakley and Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses, the Oakley Meta HSTN, will be available in India from December 1, priced starting at Rs 41,800. Pre-orders begin today via Sunglass Hut.

Key Takeaways

  • Launch Date: December 1, 2024. Pre-orders start today.
  • Starting Price: Rs 41,800.
  • Key Features: Hindi-speaking Meta AI, UPI payments via voice, fitness tracking, and 3K video capture.
  • Battery Life: Up to 8 hours on glasses, plus 48 hours via charging case.

The performance-focused eyewear features an integrated camera, open-ear speakers, and IPX4 water resistance. Users can capture Ultra HD 3K video hands-free.

Hindi-Speaking Meta AI & Celebrity Voices

The glasses integrate Meta AI directly into the frames. By saying “Hey Meta,” users can get weather updates, performance data, or capture content instantly.

A major update for the Indian market is full Hindi language interaction. Users can ask questions, control media, make calls, and capture photos entirely in Hindi.

Meta AI also offers a Celebrity AI Voice feature, with Deepika Padukone among the recognizable voice options for a personalized experience.

UPI Payments & Fitness Tracking

Soon, users will be able to make secure UPI-Lite QR code payments using just their voice. The command “Hey Meta, scan and pay” will process transactions via a linked WhatsApp bank account, eliminating the need for a phone.

For fitness, the glasses integrate with Strava and Garmin for real-time activity tracking. The IPX4 rating makes them durable for workouts and demanding conditions.

Design, Battery & Availability

The glasses offer up to 8 hours of battery, extendable to 56 total hours with the portable charging case.

Six prescription-ready frame and lens combinations are available, including Warm Grey with Prizm Ruby Lenses and Black with Prizm Polar Black Lenses. Some options feature technology.

The collection launches nationwide on December 1 at Sunglass Hut and leading optical retailers.
