For millions of elderly pensioners, November often means long queues at banks or post offices just to prove they’re alive. This annual ritual of submitting a life certificate is not only inconvenient but also physically taxing. Now, thanks to a simple digital hack, pensioners can generate their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) right from home using their smartphone — eliminating the need for travel and making the process seamless.
What it solves
Millions of elderly pensioners are required to physically visit a bank or post office to prove they are alive by submitting a life certificate. This process is often exhausting and inconvenient. The Digital Life Certificate (DLC) eliminates the need for travel, allowing pensioners to complete the verification process from the comfort of their homes.
How it works
Using biometric face authentication on a smartphone, pensioners can generate and submit their life certificate digitally. Once verified, the certificate is automatically sent to the pension‑disbursing bank, ensuring uninterrupted pension payments.
Steps to Generate a Digital Life certificate
1. Download the apps: Install the Janaushadhi/Jeevan Pramaan app and the AadhaarFaceRD service from the Play Store.
2. Enter details: Provide your Aadhaar number, PPO (Pension Payment Order) number, and bank details.
3. Face authentication: Follow on‑screen instructions for biometric verification (such as blinking when prompted).
4. Automatic submission: Once verified, the certificate is instantly sent to your pension‑disbursing bank.
Note: Ensure you are in a well-lit area for the face scan and your Aadhaar is linked to your pension account.
