Karnataka CM Launches Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 with ‘Futurise’ Theme

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the 28th Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS 2025) on Tuesday, unveiling the Indian-made KEO computer and setting ambitious space technology goals for the state.

Made-in-India AI Computer

The inaugural event featured the launch of KEO (Knowledge-driven, Economical, Open-source), an affordable AI-ready computer developed by Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (KEONICS). The device runs AI applications locally without cloud dependency, designed specifically for grassroots education as part of India’s push for accessible, home-grown computing.

Global Participation

The summit brings together global leaders from 60 countries, including prominent delegates such as Nicholas Reece (Lord Mayor of Melbourne), Rafal Rosinski (Deputy Minister of Digitisation, Poland), Ilse Aigner (President of Bavarian State Parliament, Germany), and Jan Christian Vestre (Norwegian Health Minister).

Karnataka’s Tech Vision

“With the Tech Policy 2025-30, we aim to position Karnataka as India’s leading space technology hub, capturing 50 per cent of the national market and five per cent globally by 2034,” CM Siddaramaiah announced during the inauguration.

Summit Focus Areas

The event features ten conference tracks covering IT and deep tech, electronics and semiconductors, digital health, biotech, and the India-USA Tech Conclave. Sub-tracks include discussions on artificial intelligence, defence, space tech, ‘Finverse’, and women in leadership roles.

The CM was accompanied by Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, Ministers M.B. Patil and Priyank Kharge, along with industry leaders including Biocon’s Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalkrishnan.
