At Adobe MAX 2025 in Los Angeles, CEO Shantanu Narayen announced the company’s most ambitious AI-powered creative tools yet, positioning Firefly as the central platform for next-generation creativity.
Firefly Transforms into All-in-One Creative Hub
The upgraded Firefly platform now integrates AI tools for audio, video, and design alongside new collaborative Firefly Boards. Each Firefly model features distinct “character” capabilities, enabling seamless workflow across Adobe applications without context switching.
“We are investing in creativity to ensure that creators move faster and create more,” Narayen stated. “With Firefly, you have more options now, and our vision is to make it a one-stop solution from ideation to creation.”
Pixel-Perfect AI Capabilities
The new generative AI features deliver pixel-level precision, with Firefly capable of producing complete videos, composing soundtracks and voiceovers, and batch-editing thousands of images through Firefly Creative Production.
“Our new generative AI features will allow creators to have pixel-level perfection,” Narayen emphasized.
Enhanced Creative Cloud Applications
Adobe infused Creative Cloud with advanced AI capabilities including Generative Fill and Generative Upscale in Photoshop, plus AI Object Mask in Premiere Pro. These tools are designed to augment rather than replace human creativity.
“It’s the creators who bring the creativity which cannot be replaced,” Narayen affirmed.
Multi-Model Support and Customization
Beyond proprietary Firefly models, Adobe now supports AI models from Google, OpenAI, Runway, and other providers. The new Firefly Custom Models enable creators to personalize AI generation using their unique artistic styles.
AI Assistants Streamline Workflows
Conversational AI assistants are being integrated directly into Firefly, Photoshop, and Adobe Express, allowing users to transform ideas into content through simple natural language prompts.
